Operate and Set Up CNC Machine Tools in a production environment.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Operate and Set Up Horizontal Milling and/or Lathe Turning CNC Machine Tools
- Inspect product using precision measuring tools, including but not limited to calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, etc.
- Ability to proficiently read and interpret blue prints including GD&T
- Ability to understand tool usage and wear, and make necessary adjustments at the machining center
Qualifications and Skills
- Understanding of Blue Print Reading
- Experience on Mazak CNC Machining Centers a plus
- Proficient Machining Theory knowledge
Responsibilities and Duties
- Inspection of daily parts product using CMM and Physicals measuring
- Inspection and calibration of inspection fixtures
- Program CMM using PC-DIMIS Software
- Analyze dimensional results to give feedback to the product team.
- Evaluate drawing to determine the best method to measure a part, work with and provide feedback to engineering
- Evaluate and select best methods to convey dimensional differences visually, perform sectioning, measurements and GD&T
Qualifications and Skills
- Experiences surrounding CNC Machining of metal castings
- Knowledge in use of precision measuring tools including but not limited to: calipers, micrometers (ID, OD, and depth), thread gauges etc.
- Working knowledge of mechanical inspection, blue print reading, GD & T
- CAD Experience required
- PC-DIMIS experience. (Desirable)
- CAD skills (Desirable)
- Work schedule flexibility. May be required to adjust shifts for specific projects
Magnum Machining is currently looking for applicants with a desire to learn CNC machining through a 1-on-1 job shadow training program.
The entry level CNC Machine Operator will work with an experienced CNC Machine operator to learn the fundamentals of CNC machining for a period up to 3 weeks. At that point the entry level machinist will move to their own machine tool while being assisted by experienced operators and production management.
This is a great way to build a skill set for a life long career.
